OBIEE11g and Essbase / EPM Integration: How Do I Do It, and How Well Does It Work?
Mark Rittman, Rittman Mead
Time: 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Oracle's long-term plans are to integrate Essbase and the EPM product suite with OBIEE and Fusion Middleware, with OBIEE's repository being the metadata layer for both relational and multi-dimensional sources, and OBIEE's dashboard being the ad-hoc reporting environment. So, using the latest 11.1.1.6 release of OBIEE, how do you connect OBIEE to your Essbase databases, and how well does it handle Essbase features such as UDAs, scenario and account dimensions, changing outlines, and unbalanced/parent-child hierarchies? How well do OBIEE's ad-hoc reporting tools handle Essbase hierarchies and member selections, and how efficient is the MDX that it generates now that we're at the 11.1.1.6 release of OBIEE? Can we still embed OBIEE's dashboards in Workspace, and does single sign-on between Workspace and OBIEE still work?

This session will look to get you started with OBIEE as a reporting layer for Essbase, see how well it works, and check whether the most recent releases of OBIEE 11g have solved some of the initial integration issues.

Objective:

  1. Learn how to get you started with OBIEE as a reporting layer for Essbase.
  2. See how well it works.

Learn how the most recent releases of OBIEE 11g have solved some of the initial integration issues.
