ODTUG 2020—A Year Like No Other

Although this year did not turn out as planned, the ODTUG community came out strong, and despite the odds, we made 2020 a year of connection, collaboration, and inspiration. Thank you to all of our volunteers and members for the passion and enthusiasm you bring to the organization. Let's take a look back at some of the highlights.
The year started off with the ODTUG Board of Directors meeting in Wilmington, NC where they filmed "What is ODTUG?" which produced some very entertaining outtakes and great memories of spending time together in person. We did not know then just how much of a privilege it was to be together face to face. In the months following, so many of our interactions shifted to the virtual sphere, but we did not let that stop us from forging ahead with new ways to keep our ODTUG members engaged:

ODTUG Community Virtual Meetups

2020 was an exciting year for the ODTUG communities! With in-person meetups on hold, ODTUG went virtual! ODTUG hosted two EPM virtual meetups: May the 4th and Back to School. We also hosted a Database Community Beach Party. It was incredible to bring together so many people from around world for these events, which were packed with technical content and lively discussions.

Thank you to all our members for taking the time to plan events that bring the ODTUG communities together to learn, network, socialize, and have fun.

ODTUG Oracle Analytics Community Storytelling Challenge

The Analytics Community showed up and showed out this year when we asked them to put their Analytics, Data Visualization, and data storytelling skills to the test in two Storytelling Challenges. The first challenge was a race to the finish with only 48 hours to complete the submissions. Congratulations to the Vertice Cloud Team for taking home the gold. The second challenge was a week-long contest which once again amazed us. The level of creativity and technical prowess from the whole Analytics Community was astounding. Congratulations to the Performance Architects team for winning the second challenge.

As sad as it was to cancel ODTUG Kscope20, we were so glad to still find a way to deliver the incredible conference content to our members. Over 2,000 participants joined us for this four-day event with over 90 sessions plus mini Oracle Symposiums. ICYMI members can view the presentations and recordings on our website.

Webinars

ODTUG hosted 50 educational webinars this year, featuring content from the APEX, Analytics, Database, and EPM communities. Thank you to all the speakers who volunteered to present, and thanks to everyone who has tuned into these FREE educational opportunities.

If you are an ODTUG member, you have exclusive access to all webinar recordings. Log in to start watching today! If you are interested in presenting a webinar in 2021, email veronica@odtug.com to schedule a topic and time.
