A Note from Your Community Leads

Greetings from your EPM community leads. We are thrilled to have this very first interaction with our EPM community. For those who do not know us we are Mohit Jain and Megha Gupta, your new EPM Community Leads for ODTUG. With over fourteen years of experience with Oracle EPM, we will try to serve our EPM community to the best of our ability. We would like to thank our previous lead Jay Chapman for the work he has done in this role and his service to the community.

We hope you and your families are safe and healthy. With the COVID-19 situation changing constantly and impacting our daily lives in every way imaginable, we as a community need to group together more than ever to help get this thing under control.

We are the agents of transformation. As we grow, it helps to grow our customers, which in turn results in a successful organization. It is a continuous cycle of Learn, Grow, and Succeed.

Many of us have done tons of amazing work for our customers/organizations to help them succeed. It is time to share our great achievements with the entire EPM community. We would like to invite everyone to be part of this. Our plan for the community is to keep people engaged and involved by offering informative webinars, providing opportunities for hosting and attending meetups, and providing volunteer opportunities within the community.

In this quarter’s newsletter, we are adding a few new things. First, we are starting a Word Search section based on the EPM space. And secondly, we're adding a new section to provide information about new versions/features that have been added into the EPM application during this quarter.

We organized the EPM Technophilia Day (March 10, 2022) to start a new year with new learning. It included presentations and discussions of what is new in the EPM space and many more learnings. We had a great session including participation from Shankar Vishwanathan, Mohammad Moiz, ACE Cropped.png Geordan Drummond, and Sara Beth Good.

We are planning to have another session of EPM Technophilia Day after ODTUG Kscope22. We are looking for volunteers to help us put on another successful event.

Lastly, we welcome your feedback with the newsletter, meetups, and webinars. We value you staying connected to us, and we hope this is just another means for you to keep in touch with the latest EPM community news. Feel free to reach out to us anytime with your comments and/or concerns.

Thank you for being a part of our great community, and for your continued support of ODTUG.

We hope to see you in person at ODTUG Kscope22. Join us at the Gaylord in Grapevine, Texas, June 19-23, 2022, for an incredible opportunity to connect with our network of Oracle experts while leveling up your skills.

Financial Close Manager A Pathway to Streamline and Accelerate Your Close Operations:
By, ACE Cropped.png Mohit Jain and ACE Cropped.png Megha Chopra, Genpact

Manual tracking of the close process, using excel and emails is one of the reasons companies still experience issues in their close process from an accuracy, transparency, complexity, and comprehensiveness perspective.

By standardizing and embedding controls in period-end close processes, organizations are able to eliminate labor-intensive, non-value adding activities and streamline decentralized and disjointed workflows that lengthen cycle times, increase the risk of control failure, and threaten the integrity of financial statements. However, you don’t need to spend countless hours on how to close the books in real time!

This article will guide you through how Financial Close Manager is a pathway to streamline and accelerate your Close Operations and best practices you need for a successful journey to EPM Closing and Reporting.
