One of the highlights of Kscope is always the Hands-On Training Labs, and this year will be no exception.
- Among the Kscope14 lineup is The Database, a three-part exercise that will cover Building Your Own VM Lab on Your Laptop. Find out how to build out your own personal developer/DBA sandbox, and get help configuring your environment and installing your software. Then walk through a popular product install process and the most popular tools to support VM builds. Some of the best minds in the Oracle universe will help guide you through all the necessary steps: Bobby Curtis, Tim Gorman, Michelle Malcher, Leighton Nelson, Kellyn Pot'Vin, and Yury Velikanov.
- Joe Stasi of Platform Specialists will offer Intro to FDMEE, which will focus on building data-integration routines using FDME. Bridge the gap between FDM Classic and FDMEE, or get familiar with the features and functions of the new tool. Configure FDMEE, build a load location and mapping routine, and discuss practical tips/tricks along the way. He will also discuss the ODI engine, basic scripting, and the approach for integration with a GL system.
- Stuart Porad, Consilium Technology, will lead Intro to DRM, a lab covering the ins and outs of loading Master Data to DRM, along with enriching the information with DRM formulas, inheritance, and default values. The exercises will include the creation of an export file that would be ready to load into a target system.
- David Peake of Oracle Corporation will give a double session on Soup-to-Nuts of Building APEX Applications, which is designed to take you through building a comprehensive application using Application Express. This hands-on-lab session is designed for people with no prior knowledge or very little experience developing with Application Express. You will learn how to develop a large number of different application components and walk out with the confidence and understanding of how to start building your own applications using Oracle Application Express.
These are just a few of the nineteen sessions from which you can choose. Be sure to read the descriptions of all the Hands-On Training Labs. You must be registered for Kscope to attend these, so the sooner you register, the better chance you have of securing a seat at those you want to attend. You can register for up to three labs. Space is limited and filled on a first-come/first-serve basis. Don’t delay – the labs fill up quickly each year. There is no additional fee to attend these.
