My next subject for an interview is one of my all time favorites: Steven Feuerstein.
Steven has a new website (in beta right now) called “The PL/SQL Challenge”. From the website:

MR: Which presentation of yours is a “can’t miss” session that Kaleidoscope attendees should plan on attending, and why?
SF: “My can’t miss selection is easy this year: ODTUG is sponsoring my first ever “PL/SQL Developer, Quiz Thyself!” – a live, interactive PL/SQL quiz with cash and other prizes. Yes, that’s right – you could win $500 for knowing the most about the PL/SQL language. That should be lots of fun!”
MR: Who else should Kaleidoscope attendees plan on seeing a session from, and why?
SF: “So many fantastic presenters make it a point to be at ODTUG. I certainly try to catch any sessions from folks like Bryn Llewellyn, Lucas Jellema, Sue Harper, Paul Dorsey,Dimitri Gielis, Scott Spendolini, Peter Koletzke, Jonathan Lewis, Cary Millsap, Karen Morton, Chris Muir, Mark Rittman…you get the idea!”
MR: What differentiates Kaleidoscope as a conference from other conferences out there?
SF: “Kaleidoscope is one of my favorite conferences. It has a focus and intimacy that are both lost in the bigger conferences. I don’t mind talking to people who haven’t a clue about PL/SQL, but I would much rather hang out with other development geeks – and Kaleidoscope is the place to do it.”
MR: Can you tell us what your best memory is from a Kaleidoscope conference that you’ve attended previously?
SF: “Well, that’s easy – my best memory is from Kaleidoscope 2009, when the ODTUG Board of Directors was kind enough to bestow upon me their first Lifetime Achievement award. That was quite an honor. And if they want to give it to me again this year, that would be just fabulous. Other standout memories of Kaleidoscopes past include some great beach volleyball in Florida and the last Washington DC conference – that was great because my wife, Veva, actually joined me and forced me to socialize with other human beings. I’d forgotten how entertaining people can be.”
