MoPOP is a nonprofit museum dedicated to contemporary popular culture. The MoPOP mission is to make creative expression a life-changing force by offering experiences that inspire and connect our communities. The museum houses some of the world’s most legendary pop culture artifacts. Explore the many award-winning exhibitions featuring luminaries in music, literature, television, and film.
The theme for the special event is POP Culture-Con. We encourage everyone to dress as their favorite pop culture icon from past to present. From Prince and Lady Gaga to Harry Potter, Mario, and Beyoncé—your POP Culture-Con options are limitless! Scared to Death: The Thrill of Horror Film Experience the most terrifying monsters in horror cinema through immersive installations, multimedia exhibits, and more than 50 props and costumes from film and television. Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic Experience fantastical installations that include worldbuilding and mapmaking, along with artifacts from popular literature, film, television, video games, and comics. Infinite Worlds of Science Fiction Embark on an intergalactic adventure on board an alien spaceship featuring more than 150 rare artifacts from sci-fi’s most iconic films and television shows. Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame Celebrate the creators and creations that have made significant contributions to the sci-fi and fantasy genres with a gallery featuring interactive exhibits and nearly 40 artifacts related to inductees such as Ursula K. Le Guin, George Lucas, and Star Trek. Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses Explore the world’s most extensive exhibition of memorabilia celebrating the music and history of the Seattle grunge luminaries, Nirvana.
