One of the most basic search engine optimization techniques is in using SEO-friendly URL structures. A good structure can help the indexation process of your website, but, unfortunately, APEX URL’s are suboptimal for SEO. AND: URLs are for People, not only for Computers. After all the URL is one of the first things you see when visiting a new website, and first impressions are important. A clean and understandable URL simply looks professional.
After a brief introduction to the APEX f?p syntax, I will explain and demonstrate different techniques, using APEX Listener configuration features, APEX RESTful Services and PL/SQL, to not only prettify APEX URL’s, but enabling a kind of PL/SQL based proxy-rewriting. All this, in order to be able to present URL’s in a user- and SEO friendly format. The session will contain easy to understand and reproducible examples.
