Essbase technology has improved so that ASO has replaced BSO as the standard for new cube development. So why are there still so many BSO cubes running in production today? From talking to peers, the answer is 3 simple letters - MDX. Users understand the new hierarchies, the dynamic nature of the cubes and even pre-aggregations, but the MDX code baffles them. Other ASO sessions usually give this topic shoft shrift because of the complexity, so this session seeks to fill that void. It'll touch quickly on the nature of ASO cubes and then spend most of the time present concrete examples of calc script member formulas and how they can be converted to ASO.
