The global upgrade of our Hyperion product suite from version 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.2.300 involved members of 15 teams across 4 geos. In addition to upgrading Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Hyperion Strategic Finance, Web Analysis, and Financial Reporting, this project also included the implementation of two new products: Essbase Studio and ODI. Some of the challenges we faced were: • Dealing with desperate data sources • Org readiness: User training • Migration of 9800 self-service reports • Performance improvements • Implementing best practices • Working with SI We learned many lessons during the process, and, at this session, we’ll share the tips and tricks we discovered that helped make the project successful.
