Data Relationship Governance (DRG) is one of the newest modules in Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management. DRG is a tool that allows you to do workflow in order to get new accounts and cost centers in DRM. It uses a web interface that allows users to submit a request to make additions, deletions, or changes to the current structures in DRM.

DRG is new leading edge technology and even though it doesn’t yet have all the bells and whistles there are many good reasons to work with it now. In this session, Steve Davis, TopDown Consulting Solutions Architect and DRM expert, will walk you through DRG, reviewing key features you can leverage, including:

• Integration into DRM – no need to install other software
• How to request changes to accounts, cost centers, profit centers, etc.
• Making the most of the pre-set approval process and the automatic addition to DRM upon approval
• How the models inside DRG allow an organization’s users to act collectively
o Request enriched HFM
o Essbase, add changes
o Planning admin add changes
o “Approver”
o DRM
o flow downstream

He will discuss the pluses, minuses, what issues do we foresee, bottlenecks, etc. with DRG. He’ll provide examples on how you can take advantage of DRG today—e.g., when to work development vs. production—even though it’s a new tool. He’ll also provide tips and tricks and best practices for working collaboratively with DRG.
