AI/Machine Learning/Spatial:

The analytical experience can be substantially enhanced by the complementary capabilities provided by machine learning and Spatial. Machine learning can help to process huge quantities of data and offer focused insights, such as the relative importance of certain attributes to an event occurring. Spatial is hugely useful when location or proximity are important and can help to provide an enhanced map-view. These types of technologies have a synergy with analytics and the sessions in this stream cover technical considerations through to the use-cases of these powerful integrated platforms. 

APEX at the ODTUG Kscope21 Virtual Event:

The ODTUG Kscope21 Virtual Event will continue to lead the pack by providing the best educational experience for Oracle APEX developers. This year, we’re going to make sure there is content available for all skill levels—from the beginner to the advanced APEX developer—so there is something for everyone.  

In addition to the beginner track, we’re going to explore the more challenging issues that APEX developers face—such as integration, extensions, and lifecycle management & security. We’ll also continue to have a track dedicated to the core components of APEX, as they are some of the most powerful features of the tool and are often the most overlooked.

Beginner:

New to APEX? Or perhaps you’re a DBA or Java/JavaScript-focused developer and want to learn more about APEX? Then this track is for you! Sessions in the beginner track will target developers who are APEX newbies or those with minimal APEX experience. Sessions are focused mostly on the core components of APEX and blend lecture and demonstration, since seeing really is believing—especially with APEX.

APEX Core Components:

While there are many ways to integrate all kinds of things with APEX (see the Extensions/Integration track for examples), the core components of APEX should not be overlooked. This track highlights what can be done by staying “inside the box”—using only the core components of APEX and associated best practices. There’s no limit to the sophistication of the content here (we have a beginner track for the basics), so let your imagination run wild.

Extensions / Integration:

With Oracle APEX you rarely build a standalone application. In most cases, you need some integration, either with other products (e.g., MS Outlook, Google Calendar, SAP, Oracle eBusiness Suite), other technologies (e.g., REST), other platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), or even other languages and tools (e.g., Java, SQLcl, JavaScript). This track highlights ways to integrate with and extend the APEX platform by utilizing non-APEX technologies.

Lifecycle Management & Security:

Application development is not a discrete process anymore—with APEX or any other technology. With more and more emphasis being put on things like CI/CD & DevOps in general, can APEX play in that world? Of course it can! This track will highlight anything that has to do with the overall management of applications throughout their lifetimes—from configuration management to version control and DevOps. This track will also incorporate sessions focused on security, since security starts on day one and never ends.

The Oracle Database RDBMS is the backbone for the vast majority of applications, solutions, and products for working with data, including the Oracle product suite itself. For everyone working with Oracle Database in one role or another, the Database track is the core of the ODTUG Kscope21 Virtual Event, bringing you the best and latest tools, tips, tricks, hacks, and techniques from practical field experience.

Presenters at the ODTUG Kscope21 Virtual Event will include the world’s best Oracle ACE Directors, ACEs, ACE Associates, Groundbreaker Ambassadors, product managers, and generally experienced people, all who have knowledge to relate and demonstrate within their fields, whether it be database administration, development, design, DevOps, or anything related to the Oracle RDBMS.

For the Modern DBA:

The role of a database administrator has always been a changing role, as Database versions over time have taken over a lot of the mundane and boring tasks—the Autonomous Database more so than ever. In prior ODTUG Kscope conferences, there has been confusion about where to find information about the Enterprise Planning processes that an organization undertakes.
