How to Build a Modern Data Platform

The goal of this hands-on session is to showcase how organizations can achieve faster Mean Time to Analysis and Decision (MTTA/MTTD) as they transition and pivot to embracing digital transformation.

You will learn to build a modern data platform with an emphasis on Data Lake House using “out-of-the-box” tooling and integrations available in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

We will demonstrate how to use publicly available data sets and store it in an object store bucket (a.k.a. Data Lake). We will then harvest this data and make it accessible to Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) by using Data Catalog, without physically moving data out of the Data Lake. We will schedule harvest jobs to facilitate automated processing of new incoming content into the Data Lake.

In addition, we will transform the data using OCI’s Data Integrator tool by creating data flows.

Last but not the least we will create visualizations using this ingested data and demonstrate the full capabilities of Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).
