ODTUG Goes Live with Oracle's Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service
Oracle Development User Tools Group (ODTUG), an Oracle user group community focused on education, announced that it has adopted Oracle’s Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (EPBCS) to manage the organization’s financial reporting and budgeting needs.
The not-for-profit organization, whose mission is to keep its members on the cutting edge of the constantly changing Oracle technology landscape, long wanted to adopt Oracle Corporation’s innovative finance solutions. The paradigm shifted with the availability of Oracle’s cloud solutions. These provide a way for smaller organizations to adopt enterprise-class software without incurring the overhead typically associated with these advanced applications. Using its strong partnership with Oracle Corporation, ODTUG received a low-cost monthly subscription to gain access to advanced financial planning and analytics which will help the organization manage its operations more efficiently.

ODTUG Kscope Community Service Day Renamed to Honor Its Founder
ODTUG has been around for more than 20 years now. YCC (Your Conference Connection) has been ODTUG’s partner for that entire time. ODTUG’s excellence is built upon its partnership with YCC.
YCC’s founder, Kathleen McCasland, served as ODTUG’s executive director until mid-2012 and was a fixture at almost every ODTUG event. The 2018 ODTUG Board of Directors made the decision to rename our cornerstone Community Service Day the ODTUG Kathleen McCasland Community Service Day. Because Kathleen was the driving force behind this event, the ODTUG Board of Directors felt it was an appropriate honor for such an amazing woman. To learn more, read the full press release.
If you're interested in volunteering at the ODTUG Kscope19 Community Service Day on June 22, sign up now. If you're unable to attend, you can also help by donating.
ODTUG Announces that Emerging Technologies Is Coming to ODTUG Kscope
ODTUG Kscope18 offered four dedicated Breakout with Blockchain sessions, covering everything from the basics of Blockchain, to in-depth sessions on Oracle Blockchain Cloud Service. In November 2018, ODTUG also announced a new emerging technologies track coming to ODTUG Kscope19 in Seattle, WA. The common themes across all of these new technologies? Humans are interacting with and relying on artificial intelligence (AI) now more than ever through machine learning, deep learning, chatbots, personal assistants, and more. Devices connected to the internet are creating new user experiences and new data sets to analyze in the world of IoT. And finally, ways in which entities, both physical and digital, are transacting with each other are being transformed with Blockchain in use cases that go way beyond digital currency.
It’s a great time to be a technologist, and ODTUG will keep you on the cutting edge at ODTUG Kscope19.
Mike Riley Awarded ODTUG's Lifetime Achievement Award
At ODTUG Kscope18, we were honored to award ODTUG Secretary Mike Riley, the ODTUG Lifetime Achievement Award. Mike Riley has been an ODTUG member since 2001 and has been active on the ODTUG Board of Directors and Conference Committee since 2007. In a recent board of directors blog post, Mike Riley said:
"In my many years on the board I have served alongside an incredible amount of talent. I have learned from each and every one of my fellow board members along the way. I count those that I have served with among my best friends in the world. During my time on the board, I have advocated and fought for the members; I have spent countless hours doing this. I have been to some amazing locations on ODTUG business, and I have invested considerable personal time working for the members."
Thanks Mike - We will miss you!
