ODTUG Women in Technology Program Update The ODTUG WIT webinar series successfully launched on November 14 with a high number of registrants and an interesting topic: How to Recognize and Create Opportunities for Your Career. The aim of the ODTUG WIT webinars is to spark conversations relevant to all genders on topics throughout the entire tech ecosystem.
Opal Alapat of interRel joined Alecs Mlynarzek of Alithya in a candid conversation about the career journey of a woman in tech, the impact of choices made, and the reasons behind them. The webinar was highly interactive; attendees answered short live polls throughout the conversation, which resulted in a dynamic flow of ideas and an engaged audience. A recording of the first WIT webinar is available for paying members only, but live sessions are available to all ODTUG members, so don't miss out on future sessions, starting with January 2020.
At the request of many attendees, we will kick off the new year with the topic of Work-Life Balance followed by sessions focusing on Communication and Assertiveness Leadership Style and Self-Confidence. We are excited to share some insight into the new mentorship opportunities that will take shape in early 2020, stemming from the ODTUG WIT group, with program options for both mentors and mentees. Sign up here for the mentorship program and to submit suggestions for future ODTUG WIT webinar topics or volunteer to be a panelist.
